Irish music brings to mind tiny flutes and bellowing chants from the Hobbit. However, the transnational flow of content (which I delve into in this blog post) has allowed music trends and styles to localise with Irish culture. Instead of Celtic women singing atop hilltops, the features of hip-hop and grime have integrated with modern Irish culture, giving a voice to marginalised groups in Ireland.
